Fortunately, the bag we purchased was large, however it didn’t have any resealable option. Once you open the bag, you have to find a way to close it up. We used a rubber band. Hopefully, the crispy texture of the potato chips will last for a while.

What do Barnana Organic Ridge Cut Plantain Chips look like?

As you can see in the pictures, these chips are bright yellow. They have these rigid lines across them and they are cut down the middle in a cross-sectional manner.

You can tell that these chips are pretty organic and natural because you can see the seeds at the very center of the cross-section.

Also these chips aren’t thin either. They’re incredibly thick if you compare them to potato chips. I’d say they feel like they’re double the thickness of a traditional potato chip.

What’s the texture of Barnana Organic Ridge Cut Plantain Chips?

Along with the rigid lines that you can tell just by feeling the chips, these chips are really crunchy. I mean they are really, really crunchy.

These chips don’t just break up in your mouth when you chew them. They don’t break up in your mouth similar to how potato chips will. You have to chew your way through them in order for them to break.

These chips are dehydrated under 114 degrees Fahrenheit.

How long do Barnana Organic Ridge Cut Plantain Chips last?

The bad we purchased gave us an expiration date of approximately 11 to 12 months from the time that we bought it. I would say that you have a good year to eat these potato chips As long as it is sealed in the bag.

According to many food studies, if you open plantain chips and leave it out, they will last approximately two to three days. It is recommended to store them in airtight containers at room temperature to keep them nice and crispy for as long as possible.

Fortunately, the company explains that these plantain chips should last up to 10 months on the shelf.

Is Barnana Organic Ridge Cut Plantain Chips any good?

Surprisingly for me, I found them to be a bit on the bland side. You could not taste any sweetness from the plantain and that reflects the amount of sugar that there is according to the package label.

However, my wife actually likes them. She doesn’t mind the non-sweetness. She’s actually okay with the salty flavor.

The funny thing for me, is that after trying it for a little while longer I started to gain a taste for it while at work. I started eating away at it like it was nothing and I had no guilty conscience about it since it was so natural and good for you.

You can definitely taste the subtle saltiness of the chips. But what gets you the hardest is that crunchy texture. Upon speculation my guess would be that these chips were originally cut about a quarter inch thick in order to dry it or bake it to the size that they are now.

My overall rating of these plantain chips or a solid 3 1/2 out of 5. They aren’t too addictive but the huge benefit here is the nutritional value you get from them. And it really doesn’t matter how much you eat.

If you are someone who doesn’t like to eat too many sweets, then I think this is the absolute ideal snack for you. You literally won’t be able to taste any Suites in it except for the extremely subtle sweetness that comes naturally in plantains. It’s kind of like the sweetness that you get out of eating plain bread. That’s the only way I can describe it.
